North Yorkshire's biggest
We are very proud to announce that Kaboom now has a new home in the prestigious setting of Castle Howard
As well as all the best features that have been a part of Kaboom in the past, including one of the UK's top 10 firework displays, we are also combining the event with Halloween and the finale of the Illuminating York Festival
This year's entertainment programme will start at 5.30pm featuring carnival performers including fire eaters, fire jugglers, neon jugglers, fire poi and fire hooplas. There will be colourful characters interacting with the audience right across the event and we will also have Minster FM there to entertain you before the big countdown at 7.30pm*
The spooktacular Kaboom display will end with one of the biggest fireworks permitted in the UK.
This monster of a firework is so big it can be seen up to 7 miles away in the right conditions! You have the chance to name this firework – submit your suggestions on our Facebook page. There is a prize if we choose your suggestion!
Immediately after the fireworks we have a UK firework event first - an outdoor screening of the Ghostbusters movie (Certificate 12A) on the big screen to mark the Oscar nominated films 30th anniversary year.
Kaboom also offers you all the fun of the fair! All your favourites will be there including dodgems and waltzers and as it's Halloween our 'fright night funfair' will of course feature a ghost train! There will also be loads of side-stalls and lots of bonfire night goodies as well as hot drinks to keep you warm.
Kaboom does take place on grass in November – please bear this in mind and make sure you dress appropriately. Hiking boots are even better than wellies at keeping your feet dry and warm! We would also recommend a big thick coat, a hat, gloves and a scarf. Fog is not an uncommon sight in November, we will aim to get the main display started at 7.30pm* – *however the timing is subject to weather conditions and could be delayed until the weather conditions improve.
